Receive assistance with your 2023 tax return with a AARP Tax Aide representative. To receive assistance you must register and make an appointment.
To register to receive tax aide assistance:
- Register for a 20-minute appointment.
- Bring records and paperwork* needed for your return to your registered appointment at the Library.
- Pick up your prepared 2023 tax return at a time selected by you and the AARP Tax Aide representative.
Twenty-minute appointments will be available from 10:40am-12:20pm on Mondays: February, 12 and 25, March 3, 11, 18, 25, April 1, 8, and Wednesday, February 21.
Intake forms are available at the library or downloadable from this link. The intake form is best filled out before you arrive for your appointment.
*Records and paperwork needed:
Wages
- w-2
- tips if not reported
- 1099 miscellaneous gig work
- 1099 non employee compensation for self employed, gig work
Other income:
- 1099 R Retirement income
- 1099 SSA Social Security paid out this tax year
- 1099 Interest ( it may be included in your December bank statement or in electronic form depending on the bank)
- 1099 div Stocks Bonds
- Brokerage annual statement. Stock Sales
- Sale of home, property or assets
- New energy efficient windows, doors and boilers. Receipts with cost for labor and materials
- 2nd or December property tax bill for main residence to screen for relief program in June
If you itemize:
- charitable donations
- medical expense not reimbursed
- cost of medicare plans like advantage
- medical mileage
- property taxes paid for the year
- mortgage interest, primary home
