Come watch "The General," one of the most popular films of the silent film era, on the library's big screen with live musical accompaniment by musician and silent film enthusiast Jeff Rapsis! 

"The General," released in 1926, features Buster Keaton in the starring role and as co-director of the film. Buster's Civil War-era masterpiece follows the story of a Confederate railroad engineer whose train is hijacked by Northern spies. It is one of the great films of any era! Enjoy a classic silent film with live music. Free and open to the public.

Jeff Rapsis is a writer/editor, educator, and also a composer and performer who specializes in creating live musical scores for silent film screenings.
